I was hoping to stay an extra night in Moscow and Trek Escapes (through which I plan to book your tour) quoted me $212 Canadian. I went to the Izmailovo hotel website and found a single standard room for 2470RUB (~$85 Canadian). Why is there such a big difference? Maybe the room types are different? If I book directly with the hotel can you still give me the visa invitation letter for the correct number of days?
Secondly can you please advise whether the tour UTBX departing on May 23, 2009 is guaranteed?
Thank you.

Hello ssmc and thank you for posting on the forums.
With regards to the price difference, I've checked with our Operations team and we arrange contracts with our hotels at the beginning of each year and use these to work out how to charge for our extra accommodation.
In the meantime of course exchange rates do fluctuate, and hotels are free to change their prices for direct customers - which is unfortunately beyond our control.
I can confirm that the Baltic Explorer on May 23rd is now a guaranteed departure.
I'm afraid that our Russian operator is only able to provide the visa support documents to cover dates when travellers have arrangements booked with us, so we would not be able to cover any nights on our docs where you had your own arrangements.
I hope this helps to answer your questions,
Best wishes,
Kelly
