I'm going on the China Explored tour which includes a 5 hour walk along the Great Wall. What stretch of the wall does this cover? My fitness levels leave a lot to be desired and I'm wondering whether to make separate arrangements rather than let the group down.

Great Wall of China
Hello Claverick
Thanks so much for getting in touch.
I can confirm that the 'China Explored'tour tour visits the Great Wall section between Jin Shan ling and Si Ma Taj.
This section, whilst considered a reasonably difficult walk is still perfectly possible provided you are reasonably fit and willing.

Hi Claverick
I did this tour in April this year. The walk along the wall is fairly tough going in places, but the tour leader will go at the pace of the slowest person in the group and there is no pressure on you race!! I really would recommemnd doing the walk, as the views are spectacular.
If you do decide that that it is going to be too much, there is another option. You can go to the Great Wall along with the rest of the group and have a short walk around the area that the bus drops the group off. You can then get back onto the bus and meet up with the rest of the group at the end of their walk.
On our group we had people of all ages and fitness levels. Two of the older ladies decided to do the shorter version of the walk and meet up with us at the end. Everyone else went on the trek, and it took us about 4 hours in total. We stopped for lunch along the way, and had plenty of rest stops. Everyone went at their own pace, and the people at the front always stopped to wait for everyone else to catch up.
I cannot recommend doing this trek enough as it really is a highlight of the trip and a memory that will stay with you for ever!!
Hope this helps
Sarah
