Hi
I would like to travel to Syria, Jordan & Egypt with imaginative. The only concern: I have a tattoo on my arm which is written in hebrew letters. (zodiac)
Can this be an issue? There is no political statement behind this but do you think some people could feel offended? Has anyone made some experience?
thanks
cla

TATTOO
The countries you want to travel to are very conservative, depending where on your arm the tattoo is I would suggest a long sleeve T-shirt or shirt. The locals wear long sleeve shirts and roll up the sleeves. If the letters aren't too big you can always bandage.
The Hebrew letters may otherwise be a "red flag" as you can't enter these countries if you have an Israel stamp in your passport!
The countries are well worth seeing. I've seen two out of the three and would love to go back again, especially to Jordan.
Good luck!
Celtic Cross Tattoo
I have a large Celtic Cross tattoed on my right forearm. Traveled all over Morocco by myself this spring. I did usually wear a long sleeved T-Shirt when i was going to be visiting a mosque or madrassa. Otherwise, when it was visible, I got some looks and some people even asked me about it, but no one seemed offended or angry. It seemed to be more of a conversation starter than anything.
In those countries bordering Israel, it might be a little more iffy with a Hebrew tattoo.
