Hello
I noticed that the Japan tour includes quite a few meals. Are these at the minshuku or out at restaurants?
for the rest of the meals (mainly lunches and a few dinners) how much do you think we need to budget (in Y or Australian dollars)
lastly (when the tour goes back from Hiroshima towards Tokyo), if I want to leave at Osaka does the train go through Osaka station or just ShinOsaka? Would it go through Kyoto (I doubt that one but thought I would ask as it would be closer to where I want to head to)
thanks, Julie

Re: Japan tour food budget and a train question
Hi
Breakfast is generally taken at the ryokan or minshuku as are many the dinners.
Other meals in restaurants. So bit of a mix really.
When you book our agent will send you a pre-departure book which will include all sorts of information about how to prepare for your trip and about Japan. About meals not included in the trip, generally a simple snack (hamburger or sandwich) will cost you about Y350. A lunchtime set meal with noodles or rice will set you back about Y700-900, while dinner in a restaurant in the evening will cost anything from Y2,000 upwards.
I don't have the latest timetable to hand so I can't answer your question about the train definitively, but even if the train doesn't stop at Osaka or Kyoto there are plenty of connections. This is truly the worlds best transport system!
Have a great trip.
