Hi
I am looking at going on the Jewels of Egypt tour in late September or early October and am concerned about the guaranteed status of these trips.
I will be travelling from New Zealand to the Middle East to do this trip so I really wont be able to change flights if the trip does not go ahead. How far in advance do you no if a trip will be cancelled or not? Or do you know the likely hood of trips been cancelled at this time of year?
I would appreciate any help or guidance that you can give.
Regards,
Kylie

Jewels of Egypt late Sept/early Oct 2009
Hi Kylie,
Thanks for your post and your interest in booking on our very popular "Jewels of Egypt" trip!
At the moment looking ahead to Sept/Oct 2009 the departures are not yet guaranteed, however being so far ahead I'm not that surprised as most people book their travel around 4 months or so before they go.
Looking back to Sept/Oct 2008 we didn't cancel any of the Jewels of Egypt departures and many of them were actually fully booked when they ran. We will run these with as few as 4 people, though.
It's really very rare for a Jewels of Egypt to be cancelled and I think this is our most popular Egypt tour. We normally know around 10 weeks ahead of departure if a tour is not going ahead, however once you have booked we are always happy to tell you how many people are booked and check if it is guaranteed at that stage.
I hope this helps,
Many thanks
Kelly

Saw your comments to Kylie about cancellations for Jewels being very rare and that in Sept/Oct of 2008 there were no cancellations. How did it look for November. We are looking at booking for November 8, 2009. Also are the present economy problems impacting on tours (ie being cancelled etc)
Thanks, Bill
Hello Bill,
Thanks for your post!
Looking back at November 2008, the trips ran almost full and we actually had one "double departure" that month too, which is when two groups run separately on the same departure date.
Best wishes,
Kelly
