If you are travelling on a British Passport then visas can still be obtained at the airport, however I would speak to a visa specialist (such as travcour 02072235295)to get the latest info.
Are you actually booked on a tour at the moment and if so which one are you on? I can then advise of the make up of the group.
For the nile cruise you are able to pay a single supplement if you would like your own room where possible.
Egypt uses 220 volts (appliances that use 240 volts work on this current as well). The city's outlets require a two-pronged plug, but the prongs are cylindrical, not flat, so a plug adapter may be required for some 220/240 volt appliances. An adapter plug and a standard voltage converter must be used with most North American appliances, which are customarily 110 volt.
I hope that this helps and let me know if you have any further questions.
Kind Regards

Hi Pat,
Just wanted to add that in my opinion (having been on Jewels) you won't need walking boots. Good trainers are necessary however, but I think the walking boots will just weigh down your bag. I tended to wear trainers most of the time whereas some people lived in flip flops and sandals with trainers for the toughest bits.
