I would like to know about meals which are included in the cost of a trip. On the trip I am in particularly interested, Turkey East and West, there are many B and D included. What exactly is entailed in an included meal? Are these "set menu" dinners in restaurants? I don't mind and actually enjoy meals where I am eating with a local family, for example, but if it in restaurants, I don't like being told what and where and when to eat. Can you generalize for all tours? Thanks.

Re: Meals
Hello Katherine,
Meals are one of the highlights of travelling in Turkey.
On our trips the general procedure is as follows: In the evenings we visit local restaurants and group members are invited to choose from a variety of available dishes. This is almost always a typical Turkish restaurant that we have found offers good quality food. In most cases you'll find that the other restaurant users are locals.
Breakfasts are usually provided in the hotel and are a Turkish variant on Continental breakfast.
On days when we are travelling, we normally stop at a local roadside restaurant - lokanta - and everyone sorts out their own requirements.
cheers
