What is the best way to carry money in Turkey? I hear that there are sometimes problems with travellers cheques outside the main towns and cities? What sort of mix of cash and cheques should I carry, and are US Dollars the preferred currency?

In Turkey you can change cash or travellers cheques easily in every bank or if you have ATM card you can get cash from the ATM machines as well.
In small towns it is a bit harder to change travellers cheques but in everytown which has got a toursitic site is familiar with changing travellers cheques so I don't think that you will have any trouble.
