We will be spending a night on a felucca at the beginning of April. Will it be necessary to take a sleeping bag. I dont really want to carry it around for a month for 1 night if it isnt really necessary

thanks

Night on a felucca - sleeping bags

Hello janwright,

Thank you for posting. We do recommend that people take sleeping bags for the night on the felucca as it can get cold at night on the river. By April it should be starting to get warmer but you will still need something.

There are some blankets on the feluccas, however the same ones tend to be used quite a lot of times before being cleaned so if you decide to rely on these you might want to consider taking a sleeping sheet so the blankets are not against your skin.

We completely appreciate it's not always convenient for people to carry around a sleeping bag for a long tour when they are only using it on that one night. If you decide not to take a sleeping bag, I'd definitely recommend taking a sleeping sheet and mentioning to the tour leader that you don't have a sleeping bag so that they can make sure there are plenty of blankets on the felucca.

I hope this helps,
Best wishes,
Kelly
