I am thinking of a trip to South India, probably in the early part of January, 2007. Since there are no "traveller" tours to that part of the world, I was wondering how the accommodation compares on the "adventurer" packages. I am certainly not looking for luxury accommodation, but like clean premises, relatively comfortable bed and (preferably) and private bath/shower (hot water optional!). I also notice that breakfasts are not included in the 'adventurer" packages. Is there a cafeteria at the hotels, or does one have to find breakfasts on one's own.

Re: "Adventurer" accommodation
Hi Sharonjc,
Thanks for your post,
I travelled on the Back waters and Villages of Kerala in November 2003, and I was also a bit worried about the accommodation, being India and all that! But I can say that I was pleasantly suprised!
All the hotels were very clean, all had en suite bathrooms, nearly all had air conditioning or a ceiling fans and they were all in central locations.
The accommodation in Thekkady up in the hills was especially lovely!
As far as I can recall all of the hotels we stayed in had restaurants which all served breakfast, continental breakfasts as well as Indian cuisine. If there isn't a restaurant in the hotel your tour leader will be able to make some suggestions.
Hope the above info helps, if you have any further questions feel free to call me on the UK reservations number 01473 667337
Kind regards
