Heya,
I'm booked on the Nile Safari trip, starting the 6th of September and I failed to realise this was during Ramadan when I booked. Am a little concerned as on the information I recerived in the post it says to avoid drinking in public. I'd presume including water. Since i'm pale skinned and can be prone to a health condition when I get dehydtrated (nothing series, but can be painful) i'm a bit worried. How much of the trip is spent "in public" and do you think it's likely to be an issue for me? Have no desire to offend anyone, but spending the trip feeling ill doesn't sound very fun.
Many thanks for any replies.

Ramadam in Egypt
Hi Mirella,
If you're in Egypt during Ramadan, it's polite to refrain from eating and drinking in public during daylight hours. Rather, do it inside a restaurant, tea house, cafe, or other private or semi-private area.
Our tour leader will make sure that there will be plenty of Opportunities to drink and eat.
Muslim restaurant and cafe staff, who may be fasting themselves, will understand if you are non-Muslim and will be happy to serve you. Some eateries may cover their windows with curtains so as not to distract those fasting by the sight of others eating.
I hope This helps.
