In which city is the shopping best for both price and variety in Egypt. Cairo,Aswan,or Luxor.Also what is Amman like for shopping in Jordan. I am mainly after handycrafts, jewellery and clothes. Any info you could give me would be a great help in my travel plans. THANKS

You will find Egypt a buyers paradise!! In Luxor you can purchase the most delicate glass bottles (like genie bottles)ranging from the minute to the gigantic.When you select your purchase they are wrapped & boxed. Mine made the trip home to Oz in one piece , but sadly I broke one recently....haven't the heart to throw it out.....they are so beautiful.
In Cairo try Khan El Khalili, you will be amazed by the atmosphere. The size & age of the area is truly wonderous, apart from what you are able to buy..... alabaster pyramids, beautiful gold & siver jewellery , clothing. The list is as large as your imagination!!!
Aswan is just an amazing place, here the Nile is crystal clear. There is a street of vendors selling almost anything you could desire.
I saw lovely tapestries, jewellery, brassware, clothing , glass bottles, perfume, leathergoods...... I could go on & on, for sale in Egypt. You will find the same things in all the cities you mentioned, but you will also find things that only that city or area has to offer.
