Several travel companies show the number of vacancies available for their various trips. For example, if the trip has a maximum of 15 people the availability shows there are 7 spots remaining.
Has IT thought of putting this on-line? It would give travellers an idea of the number of people already booked on the tour and a good idea if the minimum 6 people is "close".
Just a thought as we are panicking that our tour won't meet the minimum number OR alternatively have some tours that are GUARANTEED departures? Sure would give travellers better peace of mind.

Re: Showing Trip Availability or Guaranteed Departures
Hello mbarber225
Many thanks for your post and very good comments.
We are in the process of developing a new web site and I will pass on your comments to our web development team.
Hopefully we might be able to come up with something more user friendly as you suggest so watch this space!!
Thanks
Kate
Re: Showing Trip Availability or Guaranteed Departures
Kate, thank you for your response and looking forward to some more insight as to trip availability and "guaranteed" departures.
So hopefully many of us travellers won't be asking you for the number of travellers on a particular tour and if the tour is actually got the minimum 6 in order to go!
Re: Showing Trip Availability or Guaranteed Departures
hello mbarber
i was told by other members that you can go to a web site
www.nilemonitor.com you can see how many is on your tour, its like avalability page.
Re: Showing Trip Availability or Guaranteed Departures
Thanks, will look there!
Re: Showing Trip Availability or Guaranteed Departures
Manda, checked the www.nilemonitor.com and what the sight wants is the number of folks wishing to travel on a particular trip. Once you put in the numbers it lets you know if there is "room" for your group. It doesn't tell you how many are currently booked on the trip. For example, if the maximum is 15 and there are two of you travelling it just says there is room. So you don't know if you are the only two or there is already a dozen travelling.
My suggestion to IT is to show like on some websites that there are X# of spaces available. As the tours on the other websites also have a maximum number of travellers you then know how many have already booked this tour and whether the minimum number of travellers has been met and therefore the tour is guaranteed and you can go ahead a book your flights with your travel points or get a cheap flight without worries!
Re: Showing Trip Availability or Guaranteed Departures
Hi everyone,
The other trick is that Nile Monitor doesn't necessarily reflect "final" bookings. Last year when I was planning for Nile Safari, I panicked as one morning it showed only one spot remaining! So I booked and was fine. And then later it ended up with 3 spots vacant.
So if someone for instance books online it reduces the number of available spots, but then if they don't end up making their payments the spots free up again.
