Hi Gayle,
Where a single supplement isn't listed with the price means that we cannot offer this particular facility on the tour. This is generally due to the type of accommodation which is used. Example? In the more remote areas of Japan the traditional inns that you'd be staying in use multi-share rooms with a paper partition between futons. We couldn't possibly ask you to pay a single supplement and then provide you with a paper partition.
We find that when everybody is "mucking in together" the group bonds really well and you get a much more "family" feel to your tour.
