Dear ImTrav,
As a sole traveller on a recent trip (having booked more than one year in advance) I was "permanently" roomed with one of two other single travellers.
I believe ImTrav should revisit its policy on roommates as other companies state:
"We room solo travelers (of the same gender) in a room together, usually in pairs and on rare occasions in triple bedded rooms. We rotate roommates throughout the tour when there are multiple solo travelers and your guide will do his or her best to make the room assignments as fair as possible."
After much discussion the three solo travellers went to the tour guide and ASKED to rotate!! It should be a given that no one person benefits by booking "last" and as a result does not roomshare. Thank you.

Thanks for your feedback!
Dear MAB225
Thank you very much for getting in touch with your feedback on our solo traveller rooming. We appreciate everyone's feedback as this is the best way to improve how we do things and make sure that we are offering what people want.
I have forwarded your comments onto our Operations team and this in turn will go to our Destination Managers around the world, who are in charge of the actual running of the tours and how things like this are done.
I can see what you are saying about how it is nice to rotate so everyone has a chance to share with a room-mate, and also to have a single room once in a while.
I was recently on a tour and we had 3 people who did exactly that, and on that occasion it was at the tour leader's suggestion, so it seems that the rotation system can happen, but clearly not in your case until you and your travelling companions asked. As you say, it would have been ideal if your tour leader had instigated this for you, in the spirit of fairness, and I will pass on your thoughts on this.
Many thanks once again for taking the time to write to us. I do hope you enjoyed your tour - don't forget you are now eligible for a 5% repeat booking discount on your next tour!
Best Wishes,
Kelly
