Good Morning,
This morning I heard that due to violent demonstrations in Bangkok the government has declared a State of Emergency.
As we are leaving next week for the Elephant and Adventure tour departing from Bangkok I'm really interested to know ImTrav's position.
Thank you for any info you can pass on.
My best,
Terri

Hey Terri,
Thanks for your email this is what we (in the sales office) have been advised at present:
'You may have seen or heard on the news about serious disturbances in Bangkok at the moment. We are currently monitoring this situation very carefully as we have several groups in Thailand or on their way to Thailand.
A state of emergency has been declared in the city and there are numerous demonstrations occurring. Please be assured that we take the safety of our pax and staff very seriously and are considering alternative arrangements should we need to avoid Bangkok.
However, for the moment, tours are running as normal.'
If this changes we will let all affected travellers know asap.
Kate
State of Emergency Bangkok
Hi,
I've just been out to check on the situation around both camps of protesters and all is incredibly quiet throughout the city. The riot police are stationed everywhere to keep the parties apart. Nobody tonight seems to be bothering with the other side's protesters. I expect that no groups or individual travellers will be at all effected. I'm sure that Thailand still welcomes all travellers and will provide great memories to all that come. Let's hope the situation remains calm and all the Thais can get back to their everyday lives.
