I am planning on going to Tanzania and Ethiopia in 2010
and need to decide when. Currently I am thinking of
either April or Sept/October. I understand that Sept
is great for Ethiopia but I really want to maximise opportunities to see
wildlife in Tanzania and am wondering if April
would be better than October?
Your advice would be appreciated!

Hi maggie-mac,
Thank you for posting on the forums!
If you would like to check out when the Serengeti wildebeest migration happens, have a look at this website:

It should help you to time your visit and where you go in order to be able to see them.
Ethiopia can be visited at any time of the year. People are often advised against travelling during the rainy season, which normally runs from June until early October. But it has its own advantages in that the scenery is particularly wonderful and green in September and early October, with lots of wild flowers around. A good time to visit Ethiopia is between October and April, when the rains are over but the countryside is still green.
I hope this helps,
Thanks
Kelly
