Does anyone have advice/good reports/horror stories on travel insurance companies? I am travelling independent overland Turkey, Iran, Pakistan, India, some S.E. Asia before (hopefully) winding up in China

Re: Travel insurance
Hi there! I went to Africa for a year and a bit and managed to rack up medical bills as long as your arm and had quite a few items stolen, lost and damaged.
As far as reclaiming goes, I got everthing paid back to me, even the cost of various drugs from malaria treatment pills to anadin extra (as long as I kept the reciept!!).
The articles of clothing, sleeping and camera equipment that I had lost and stolen were refunded to me in full, even though I was only able to produce half of the reciepts!!
There seems to be some very good insurance companies out there...Just read the small print.
If my memory serves me as it was a long time ago, I was insured by Endsleigh and for some reason the abbreviation ISIS comes to mind...I would have to go and look in the loft!! I believe the Imaginative Traveller can supply a very comprehensive cover and it will be specific to the trip you are undertaking. As it seems you are not booking your tour with them they might still be able to sell you insurance or atleast put you in touch with one of there insurance agents
Re: Travel insurance
Hi there,
I'm afraid we can't sell you our insurance without you buying one of our tours.
However, if you want to give our guys a bell:
Campbell Irvine Ltd

They'll be able to give you some advice.

Re: Travel insurance
Dear Chris,
I am booking a trip to Eygpt in December for my husband and I with Imaginative Taveller through Intrepid in Australia via my travel agent. I am not confident about buying my travel agent's suggested insurance. Does Imaginative Traveller offer comprhensive insurance for Australians i.e. if I need to fly home suddenly will the flight to Australia be covered? If Imaginative Traveller does not offer this do you know if Intrepid offer insurance to Imaginative Traveller patrons?
Thanks
Lyndall M.
Re: Travel insurance
