hi i am going on the vietnam highlights trip and i hav already had hep A hep B and diptheria. it also says if you are going to rural areas you may need japanese Encephalitis. Do you think this is necesary for this trip and do many people get this vacanation before they go to Vietnam and Cambodia as it is very expensive?
Thanks Rosa

Hi rosarooney,
Thank you for your post. We're not medical professionals so unfortunately can't give you a definite "yes or no" answer on this as we're not qualified to do so - sorry!
I have spoken to a colleague who went on this same tour recently and neither she nor most of her group had received the Japanese Encephalitis vaccination, however that is not to say you shouldn't get it.
It is entirely up to the individual and I would also recommend seeking the advice of your GP, pharmacist or travel clinic if you have one locally.
I would also recommend this website as being particularly useful:
http://www.1stcontact.com/live/index.php
You look up the country you are visiting and it gives you the jabs you may need. If you click on the vaccination itself it then gives you some more information about it.
I hope this helps and am sorry not to be able to medically advise you.
Best wishes
Kelly
