Hi, we are booked on SAVH, mid June. Pse provide guidance re weather conditions - any tips on what to pack, etc. Is a backpack preferable?

Wow I love Vietnam I visited last November it is such a great country to visit!

I would advise that you should prepar for pretty humid weather conditions and be prepared for wet weather, a mac would be a very good idea. The typhoon season is from July to November, but don't worry as it normally only rains for a few hours in the morning and then clears up.

The average year round temperature is 31oC in Hanoi and Saigon.
