I was told by my travel agent that I need not need to get a visa for Eygpt, that I could get when I arrive in Cairo, very late in the evening on a BA flight, just before we meet up with the tour.
Is this correct??

Re: Visa for Eygpt
Dear Trish,
I would apply for the visa prior to leaving, it is much easier. How long before you arrive in Egypt? I had a great time there in March , IT were very good to travel with catering for all members of the tour. I hope you have a great time...I did.
Re: Visa for Eygpt
Hello Trish,
From all I've read on the different forums about travel in Egypt and from my half dozen tour books, it's not necessary to get a Visa before arriving. (I too will be arriving in the wee hours of the morning.)

Re: Visa for Eygpt
Hi Trish,
The bottom line is that it is possible to obtain visas on arrival at Cairo airport.
When you arrive, go straight to one of the Banks you will see just before you reach the immigration queues. Tell them you want a visa. They will tell you how many dollars you need to change to cover the visa fee.
Whilst it is usually possible to obtain a visa on arrival, we do recommend that travellers obtain their visas before they set off.
The main reason for this is to be sure that you have it. We have had clients - admittedly few - who have arrived hoping to obtain a visa only to discover that there is some reason why one cannot be issued to them. It may be something to do with other stamps in their passport, it could just be that they have been mixed up with someone else who has been declared 'persona non grata'.
It is heartbreaking to get all the way there and find that they will not let you into the country. Better to get the visa in advance and be sure.
