Hi,
I will be joining the felucca trip in mid September. Just wondering what the temperature on river Nile would be like at night. Would u recommend a summer sleeping bag or a spring/autumn one?
Plus what kind of footwear - sandles? trainers? or even hiking boots?
Cheers
Christina

Re: What Sleeping bag
Hi Christina,
Temperatures in September should still be pretty hot, even at night.
However, it can get chilly on the Nile so if you have 2 sleeping bags and can choose, I'd take spring/autumn one.
If you have a summer sleeping bag, that will probably be fine too.
In either case I'd recommend you get a cotton (or silk) sleeping bag liner/sleeping sheet. It can be used for extra warmth if its cold, and instead of your sleeping bag if it is hot.
A combination of sandals and trainers should be fine.
Trainers are better for things like the donkey ride and for walking around the bazaars - unless you don't mind you feet getting really dirty.
cheers
Martin
