Hello!
Thank you for your response regarding guaranteed departures (Thailand VSEA September 13)in my earlier post. So here is my next question...
How far in advance do you inform confirmed travellers that a trip is NOT going due to numbers? And if it is cancelled, do you try to place them on the next (same) tour that is operating? I guess I'm asking this because I'm wondering if it is better to sit and "wait" (which is killing me), or try to move the trip to the following month which is showing "limited availability", and therefore guaranteed to go.
We want to take this trip more than anything, and the thought of disappointment (more for my daughter than myself), is way too much of a heartbreak.
I appreciate your advice. And by the way ... this forum is fantastic! It's a huge comfort to be able to ask a question and get a response!
I look forward to hearing from you!
Terri.

Re: When do you pull the trigger??
I think that most tours generally go, i've been on a few and never been let down by them cancelling it.
You can ALWAYS phone them and ask how many people are booked without them blinking an eye, brilliant service imo.
Re: When do you pull the trigger??
Hi
I've been informed today that the Naturally Malaysia trip myself and a friend had booked onto on 24 August 2008 has been cancelled. I was really looking forward to the trip so I'm obviously disappointed but at least we have been given more than two months notice. This isn't much consolation when trips are cancelled but it does give you time to make other arrangements. This also shows that not all trips run but I hope it reassures you that you will know in plenty of time!
P.s. If anyone likes the sound of the Naturally Malaysia trip please phone ImTrav and ask to be booked on to the 24 August departure!
Re: When do you pull the trigger??
Hello Terri, and everyone else who was good enough to post on this forum!
As standard we try to confirm either way if a tour can run on its current numbers 2 months before departure. Occasionally it may be a little closer to the departure date, but only maybe by a week. We try to give other potential participants on our tours as much time as possible to book.
I can tell you at this stage though that this departure date currently has 3 confirmed bookings and another has opened a provisional booking today. I have checked, and this tour will run with just four bookings.
So for now at least it is looking promising!
If you did prefer to move your booking to a different date then you of course can do this, and we would of course help you with this. We would also offer similar tours that run on or around this date.
But for now, all looks very positive!
I hope that I have been able to answer all of your questions.
