Re: Kenya Safari & Build compared with Safari and Masaii exp

Hi y2ky

Thanks for the post !

The Kenya Safari and Build works with the charity 'Habitat for Humanity' on a house building programme. Volunteers work alongside local villagers building a house. During the programme you stay in dormitory style accommodation with basic facilities.

The Safari and Maasai Experience works with the charity Aang Serian on a community programme. The volunteering work is more varied and could involve
gardening, bricklaying, plastering, painting and even milking the goats. Farming tasks are most likely with building work when required. Time is also set aside for volunteers to learn about Maasai culture through interaction with the local Maasai women and warriors. Classroom building work is scheduled for August and September departures. Accommodation during this trip is camping, and again facilities are basic.

The Safari and Maasai Experience is listed under Kenya and Tanzania as it begins in Nairobi, Kenya. The safari and volunteer programme takes place in Tanzania.

I hope this answers your query. Feel free to post any other questions you may have.

Further details about these two tours can be found on our trip dossiers.
