I'm just wondering if it is at all possible to join in with the volunteer aspect of a trip but not the tour part? I'm interested in volunteering in Sri Lanka, but having already spent time there, there would be no point in me participating in the tour! Thanks!

Re: Volunteering Query?
Hi GH (& everyone)
Our house building programmes in Sri Lanka are located in the central regions. These areas were not affected by the Tsunami, but are areas that also need help.
Many families throughout the country live in make-shift dwellings that are unable to withstand the annual monsoon seasons. These families are forced to rebuild their homes yearly. The houses built by our teams will stand strong against the rain.
Hope to see some of you there.

Hi all,
Does the Imtrav. work for the Tsunami effort in Sri Lanka or are your efforts employed else where?

Re: Volunteering Query?
Thanks for your reply Maxine. Sri Lanka isn't the only place I'd like to volunteer - but all the places I want to volunteer are places I've been before - I guess that's why I know I want to go back and help out and be a real part of the community and culture. I'm probably looking to do something longer term really anyway, so I guess I'll need to look into other ways of achieving that. Thanks!!
