Hi We are doing this tour on starting the 25th December 2004.
We are trying to work out what the temp is fro the area at this time of year?
And more importantly if we need to prepare for alot of cool weather....
Any advise would be good...
Also what is the story with cash/Travellers Cheques/credit cards... How easy is it to change money, what is the best currency to take...
Thanks in advance
Matthew

Re: Amoungst the Maharajas
Hi Matthew
Most of your trip is in Rajasthan which is desert so you will have a strange mix of hot days and cold nights. I would suggest a good fleece and even a light fleece hat for those nights sitting by the fire. Don't worry the temperature will not drop to low. But in the day time make sure you have good protection from the sun during the day.
ATMs are available in the big cities but travellers cheques and cash in all major currencies can be changed easily
Have fun

Re: Amoungst the Maharajas
hello matthew
I'm on the same trip so I'll see you on the 25th.
Average Jan ND temp..9-21C. Thats Brisbane winter so I'm packing a fleece.
I travelled S.India last xmas(not in a group).Didn't use an ATM the whole time(can't recall even seeing one). Changed US dollars at Mumbai airport, hotels along the way (3* business) and at Thomas Cook(they seemed to have a fair network in India) in Bangalore. I think cash is probably easiest.
