Hi,as I'm in the teaching proffesion I am stuck to travelling in the summer. Not a good time for most places, I know.

However, has anyone travelled in the north of India in this time? and just how wet, is wet during the monsoon?

Please let me know your thoughts.

Re: Amristar in August

Hi Lorna and Soph,

Thanks for your question.

The bottom line is that we still do operate tours to India in August and we wouldn't operate if we believed that the weather would hinder your enjoyment of your tour. You may have noticed in other regions such as West Africa that we do not travel during the summer months, just as we don't go to Europe during the winter months (apart from trips where snow is important!).

It's true that it will be hot and sticky in Northern India in August and you are likely to encounter some heavy rain. Generally this will be in short downpours before the sun comes out again to dry everywhere up. The average daytime temperature in Delhi in August is around 35 degrees celsius.

I hope this helps. August isn't the first choice for many travellers but given your limitations you shouldn't totally write India out of the equation in August and I'm sure you would still enjoy the experience.

Regards,
Brendan.
