Hi,
I have a few concerns about going on the Annapurna Circuit trek. It will be great if someone could give me some information and suggestions.
I have never hiked more than 2500m altitude before, and I am very worried about altitude sickness. I don't know if I would be able to cope and go through Throung La Pass. I will feel very bad if I have to be left behind by the group due to inability to acclimatize.
What will happen to those who cannot get through the pass? What happens to people who gets sick on the way, either AMS or cold, flu...other illness?
I am also unsure about my fitness. I could generally hike about 15km a day with elevation of 600m - 800m gain. What if I was the only woman on the trek, and that I was falling behind?
Any information will be appreciated. Thank you.

Re: Annapurna Circuit Trek
Hi joe,
Well trek to annapurna circut and cross the Throng-la its not like Everest, be positive but you must walk gentely and acclamitiaze properly on the way to trek and U must follow the advice of your trek leader and do not hide your sicknees with you Leader.
In a group specially if u feel minor sick u can keep going with some medicine and there is sherpa and your Trek leader for u to take care, if situation is going bad then they send you back to decend to last camp if its going worse then we manage rescue helicopter specially its happen on big group.
If you have problem to walk 5 to 6 hours daily then u can make your own itinary and private group of your own and walk gentely with your own pace with taking rest on the trail.
And about fitness its doesnot matter but u must have a can do attitude rest Trek leader will do.And being a single woman its ok u r safe.
In my carrier I took lot of old couple from 40 to 65 year old to Everest base camp to Kanchaanjungga valley they did.
Just think positive.
If any question write me.

Re: Annapurna Circuit Trek
Hi Zoe,
On any trek, there are sometimes steep ascents and descents so you require a reasonable level of fitness. The more physically fit you are, the more easily your body will adapt to hiking in the Himalayas. It almost goes without saying that you should be pretty certain that you will enjoy a walking holiday before you even consider trekking in Nepal. However you don
