With January & February's trips being cancelled I guess it's on the cards that the trip I'm booked on in April might also get cancelled as the FCO advice will err on the cautious side - although I accept that there's still time to go before the decision is made. However, how much before the departure date will the decision to cancel be made? What will the options be if the trip is cacelled bearing in mind that flights are already booked?

Re: Annapurna Sanctuary - April

Hi Ian

Thanks for your question. Well as you know, we use the FCO as a guide for running our tours and follow their advice very closely. Therfore at the moment we are waiting to see if their advice changes as the hope is that things will settle down now the election on February 8th has passed. The decision is made by our operations department and we try to give as much notice as possible, but without running the risk of us cancelling it and the FCO then advising that the trip could go ahead and disappointing all our travellers. Once an updated policy has been issued we will tell all our clients affected and give them alternatives. I understand this is frustrating and appreciate your patience as this is unfortunately out of our hands.

Re: Annapurna Sanctuary - April

Is there already some news on the annapurna sanctuary on March the 18th? We leave in about four weeks and I would like to know if there's already some news about if this trip is going to be cancelled or not?
When can I be sure the trip goes on or can it even be cancelled on the day we leave?

That's strange... I haven't heard a thing yet...
Is it really true that this trip is cancelled? [Frown]

I saw the post in the other forum.. It's really true our trip is cancelled.
That's very disappointing, but rather staying home than being in danger...

Re: Annapurna Sanctuary - April

Due to the risk of cancellations, is it possible to get visas at the interntional airport in Nepal upon arrival, rather than wasting money getting one and then not using it? Also - if it is possible to do this, will it affect timings for any airport transfers arranged through imagtrav?

Hi Annamiek,

You should have been contacted about the cancellations already and all of them are on the Updated Travel Policies forum.

If you haven't then please either email me on info@imtrav.net or send a private message through the forums with your booking reference and full name so I can look at your booking.

I hope this helps.

Hi csimkins86,

Good Question!!!

You can obtain your Nepalese visa on arrival, please see below from the trip dossiers:

Please note that you will require US$30 in cash (payable in any major currency) and 1 passport photo to purchase a Nepal visa on arrival at Kathmandu airport. If you wish to leave and re-enter Nepal you
