Hi: Just looking for a bit of help for the tour. For Annapurna Sanctuary do you recommend a day hiker or full leather type boot?
Are silk sleeping bag liners available and at what cost in Kathmandu?
Also, is there a trekking shop in Kathmandu you would recommend for rental of sleeping bags and down jackets.
Thanks from Canada for all replies.

Hello Brewster,
Thanks for posting on our forums.
With regards to footwear while trekking it is very much down to personal choice and what you are most comfortable in, although popular choices would be lightweight hiking boots with good ankle support. If you go into a good camping or outdoors shop they would also be able to advise you on the pros and cons of the different designs and materials.
My colleague Tristan recently travelled to Nepal and has advised that silk sleeping bag liners, or a silk/polycotton mix liner are readily available all over Kathmandu. It's difficult to say an exact price as the proper silk ones are a little more expensive than the larger cotton ones. We estimate that a new one would cost between £5 and £10.
There is a small but reputable shop right next to the entrance to the hotel we use in Kathmandu for this tour where items can be bought or rented. The tour leader may also be able to suggest places and approximate prices you should expect to pay.
Best wishes
Kelly
