Does anyone know if it is possible to buy/hire long trekking poles in Katmandhu? I use one here and they are particularly helpful when going down hill. My current one is too long to take and I don't want to risk cutting it in half and fitting a joint. Does anyone else use a long pole (55")?
Also anyone going on 15th April. I'd love to hear from anyone.

Re: Annapurna trek

Hey Ian,

Thanks for your post.

You will certainly be able to buy hiking equipment in Kathmandu, it being a bit of a Mecca for trekkers. However if you are quite particular about your equipment, perhaps have a look for a telescopic, retractable one. Just an idea.

Kind Regards,

Robert
