Hi There! I am looking at going to the Everest Bas Camp and then a few weeks through India and am trying to work out what sort of Trek bag I should buy! 70lt, 80lt etc, with or without a daybag?. I live in Australia and there are many stors such as Mountain design and Kathmandu but there are also a heap of stores on line. So can anyone point me in the direction of what I should be looking and obviously don't want to be spending HUGE amounts of money but reasonable money. Additionaly, how do backpacks go with Kg's luggage. Obviously I will be flying to Luklo but also flying throughout India so the amount of KG's in baggage is also a concern. Many Thanks in advance.

Hi there,

It's a few years since I got my backpack, but a couple of points that may or may not help ...

Some backpacks are expandable. This means that you have extra space for things you collect on your trip and is handy if you have a lazy packing day.

In my experience day packs attached to larger packs are not that great. They are small and the straps are uncomfortable. This may have changed.

The most important thing is to get a backpack that is comfortable carrying the weight it will be used for. Some back systems may suit you, some won't. So if your going to buy online make sure you can easily return the pack if its not for you ….

Have a good trip
