Hi Rob,

Resting before the trip starts - that's something I usually save to do when I get home from a trip. Have you been to China before?

I have a few days in Beijing before the trip starts and I

Hi,

I have not been to China before, the furthest i have been is Egypt.

I know it sounds like i am a bit of a lightweight talking about taking it easy but i am sure i won't just be sitting around once i get there.

Have you arranged to stay somewhere in China yet for the couple of days before you get there ?

Where are you from in Australia ?

I ask because i am carrying on from Kathmandu to various places including Australia and wondered what it is like.

Re: Beijing to Kathmandu - 26th Aug

Hello,

China is my first stop, then i go to Nepal for a month, Thailand for 4 days, Aus for 3 months, Nz for a month, Hawaii for 2 weeks, then LA for a week.

This is what i have planned at the moment but i guess its more of a case of seeing where is good and how long my money lasts.

I have just finished a part time degree while working and need some time off, studying and working for 5 years gets to you after a while.

The only question really about Austraila is what the weather is like in Western Aus, Darwin and Alice Springs around November/December sounds a bit hot and wet. As for the east coast its seems like it will be ok in December/Jan.

One thing i did want to do in Aus is some diving, my trips in Aus end in Sydney and i was thinking of heading back up the east coast. Do you think i need to go all the way up to Cairns or is there some good diving closer to Sydney ?

Hi RD,
When does your Everest Base Trek start - the 28th September or October 12th? I am going on the one that starts on October 12th.
Catch you later.

Re: Beijing to Kathmandu - 26th Aug

Hi Rob,
I have a couple of mates who have been there before. They talk about the sheer beauty of the place, the different culture, the camaraderie of the group travelling together, meeting people from all around the world, the singalongs and joke telling at night around the camp fire as well as the physical aspect of the trip.
One of my mates has been there a couple of times before and is going back again around the same time I am going although on the Annapurna circuit this time.
I can hardly wait!

Dear Rob,

Wow your trip plans look great and I am very jealous. You are visiting such a wide variety of places and cultures. You are going to have so many stories to tell when you return home. I am sure you will love Nepal and find the trek very rewarding. For me it was probably the most amazing and inspiring thing I have ever done.

As for the weather in Australia it will vary greatly depending on where you visit. The temp in Sydney and probably Perth will be around the mid to high 20
