I feel a bit silly asking this but....in regards to the Deserts, Forts and Palaces 3 day safari, I realize there won't be any toilets but will there be any opportunities for showers/freshening up during the trek? ![[Roll Eyes]](rolleyes.gif)

Re: Camel Trek.....facilities?
I'm going on the Raj Safari Feb 27 and still wavering on the camel riding; very interested in the answer to this question. Just read an article on a travel writer, "survival expert", who films adventures all over and "he said,he had one experience he would not care to repeat: riding a camel in the desert.""They rock violently, and it's very uncomfortable." I'd just about decided to go for it and then just read this.
Anyone else on my trip?? Love to connect beforehand.

Re: Camel Trek.....facilities?
I did this trip March 04, The camel safari was good fun. There aren't showers and toilets in the desert(did you really expect them?) but the camel guides do their best to to provide washing facilities. My advice is to take some wet wipes to help freshen up. But everyone is in the same situation and I didn't notice any nasty smells from my fellow travelers. The hotel following the camel safari is super with a lovey view over the city and very inviting swimming pool that makes up for roughing it for a couple of days.
I would also recommend continuing on to Varanasi if you have the time as the trip along the river at dawn was awesome. Infact the whole trip was brilliant.

Thanks for the info Sharon!
I know that the Rajasthan Safari trip seems to have the same itinerary as the Deserts & Forts tour except it goes on to Varansi after Agra. This will be my first trip to India(!) so I was wondering if after the 19 days touring around Rajasthan, going onto Varansi might be too much in terms of feeling burned out from all the wonderful sights and activities I will have been doing(if that's possible!)or should I just go ahead with it - hey it's only a couple more days, right? And the Ganges boat trip does sound cool, not to mention relaxing......!
