Not going on your trip as I've just done it! I think I can quite honestly say it was a most amazing trip.

Personal highlights were the Great Wall and the food!

Feel free to ask questions if you want some more info on specific details.

By the way, large parts of the Forbidden Palace (and other sites) are under scaffolding in preparation for the Beijing 2008 Olympics.

I can also recommend going to the Summer Palace if you arrive before the tour starts (you won't have time later).

Don't be nervous at all... I did my first Imtrav trip last year to Morocco by myself last year and I honestly had the time of my life.

There were three singles on the trip and it was fun because sometimes we hung with the group and sometimes we did stuff on our own.

I have traveled a lot by myself and finally did my first tour... Imtrav was great because I had people to hang with but I didn't have to worry about finding stuff on my own.

You will have a great time. I'm actually bringing three friends on the trip this time... I promise we are going to have a FANTASTIC time!

My name is Tim and I'm bringing my friends Diane, Candy and Jane... we all work have worked together one time or another and all have a great spirit of adventure... it will be great to meet you... I can tell you have one too scheduling this trip on your own.

Where are you coming from? Have you traveled much before? Have you talked to anyone else from the trip?

Also - I have some friends who are taking the trip starting today! So I should have some good tips for us when they get back.

Sorry not on your trip. Did this one Aug 2003. Fantastic trip.Hope you have allowed a couple of days in Beijing to see everything else ( TEMPLE OF HEAVEN on SUNDAY, a must, Lama Monastry, The Zoo( PANDAS), and Summer Palace)

Hiya Tim,

Thanks for the reassurance. I'm still a little scared, but i quite like to feel like this as it seems to make it all the more exciting.
The only travelling that i've done in the past is holidaying around Europe, so i'm sure that this trip will be an amazing experience for me.
I am also doing the Bangkok to Singapore trip a couple of days afterwards, so i am absolutely bursting with excitement!
I live in a town called Grimsby on the north east coast of England and it certianly is grim!
I haven't been in touch with anyone else on the trip, but i'm looking forward to meeting lots of new people.
It certainly will be interesting to know if your friends have any tips for us.

Only a week until I leave! yeah!...of course I'm sick this week damn!... better than being sick on the trip I guess!
