Could anyone help me decide when is better to visit China...Spring or autumn?
I know the weather is variable but when does the countryside look its' best?...I'd imagine spring ...but maybe someone else knows for sure??? I'd like to see it at its prettiest!
Thanks v. much

Re: China Explored...Spring or Autunm?

Hi Martha,

China experiences great diversity in climate. Spread over such a vast area, the country is subject to extremes in weather.

There is heavy snowfall in northern regions like Beijing in winter, whilst Hong Kong in the south is warm all year round with temperatures seldom falling below 20 C, even in winter.

There is a huge diversity of flora & fauna in China, so no matter what time of year you go, you can not fail to see it.

We do not operate our tours to China during the winter months. Overall, Spring and Autumn are considered the best seasons to travel. Even so, our tours cover vast areas, so weather conditions may vary considerably during the tour.

Temperatures rise to around 25 degrees in the summer, peaking around 30 in July and August. July sees the highest rainfall in most parts of the country, so summer can be very humid. Sixty percent humidity is not unusual and more in other areas like Canton for example.
