Can anyone advise on suggested footwear and clothing for Rajasthan Safari Trip (22 days Jan/Feb 09) please. We have not visited India before or been on anything like this. It read it is warm in the day and freezing at night. Is this right? Would we expect to be able to wear shorts and t-shirt in the day but need polar fleece stuff at night time? And, would one wear a sandle/jandel in the day time? Any experience and suggestions gratefully received!.. Cheers.

Thanks so much for getting in touch.

For the activities involved in this trip, I would strongly suggest that you opt for light and breathable boots that are waterproof and rated to around grade 2 or 2-3 season.

Clothing-wise I would of course reccomend a good quality sun hat, a thin neck scarf, fleece gloves, a fleece top, walking/treking trousers (and perhaps one pair that can zip off at the knees), thin coolmax socks, thicker woolen socks, and some thermal underwear for night time extra insulation!
