Re: Delhi
Hi Zuzana,
On day 1 of the itinerary the group will be taken on a tour of Delhi. Normally this includes the following:
The Red Fort for pictures, Rhaspatari Bhawan, Qutab Minar and Humayuns tomb.
If you arrive a day before and are looking for attractions and places of interest, then Delhi has them in spades. Pick from any of the following for a great day:
Raj Ghat - Ghandis final resting place.
Old Delhi Markets - Wander through the back streets of the local markets to try your hand at a bit of bartering.
Closer to the Red Fort there is a Jain Bird sanctuary - well worth a look - an interesting insight into the Jain religion.
Jama Mashid Mosque - India's largest Mosque
Bahai temple - based on a similar design to the Sydney Opera House but in the shape of a lotus flower. It's a nice spot to visit at the end of a busy days sightseeing, a very peaceful and relaxing place.
Indira Ghandi Museum - Easily one of the most interesting museums in Delhi.
The best way to get around is by Cycle rickshaw. You can even hire one for the day, just make sure you agree the price at the start.
I hope that helps. Let me know if there's anything else.
