Hi all - I'm planning to go to India for the first time, around November of this year. I don't know too much about the country (yet!) but I'd like to see as much of the country as possible (taking around a month) and then ending in Goa for a bit or R & R (for say two weeks?). I'd like to tour up to Goa (for ease of travel) and then I expect I'll meet up with other travellers in Goa to hang out with.
I guess my question is, has anyone else done similiar, and what tours would combine well to do this? I have begun developing an interest in buddhism and would also consider going to a retreat for the weekend - if that's an option. Am I trying to do to much? It's such a big place - I suppose I am :-).

Re: India - combining tours
Hello there,
Thanks for your post.
We have loads of tours around India that can be connected together into a larger expedition of this kaleidoscopic country. This would be an excellent way of seeing as much of India in the time that you have.
You will see from our website that we have an fantastic tour of the south called The South India Adventure (HASI) that ventures north from Kovalam ending up in Goa, where we can easily arrange you some extra accommodation to hang out for a while. This tour is 22 days in length, and so when combined with some extra time at the end will easily fill a month. However it would be a shame to go to India and miss the magnificent north of the country, and so perhaps you could do a short tour, such as the Moghul Highlights (HTMH) which is 11 days long, before catching an internal flight or train down to Kovalam to start the South India Adventure. Just an idea to make the most of the available time.
Let me know what you think and perhaps email me at online@imtrav.net where we can discuss some ideas and doubtlessly be able to come up with the ideal tour and combinations.
All the best,
Robert
