I have been to China before on my own - from Beijing to Shanghai by train via Nanjing and Suzhou. I am interested in visiting India with ImTrav. On the cultural shock scale - how does it compare with China? I am thinking of "Amongst the Maharajas".

Re: India compared to China??

Hi Kevin,

I haven't been to China before but India is nowhere near as overwhelming as I expected.

It is crowded and polluted but it is ABSOLUTELY worth a visit. I didn't find it difficult to handle at all but my travels have only included Vietnam, Cambodia, Nepal, Jordan and Egypt.

Go for it, you only live once!!

Hope this helps,

Russell

I did China Explored with Imtrav in Aug 2003 and Amongst the Maharajahs Dec 04/Jan 05( I think I was at the Jukasso Inn at the same time as Russell) ATM is a fairly soft entry to India, but a great tour nonetheless. Vishu is a great laeader( if he is still on the job). India is not "Asia for Beginners" but is still near the top of the list for countries to visit.ATM is no more difficult than any Chinese tour( which I found fairly easy travelling)

Hi Wayne,

My husband and I are booked on BTM next Feb 18th. Glad to hear you enjoyed the tour. Is there any other info, do's, don'ts etc. that you could share with us?

Also any one else out there booked for this trip?

Hilary
