I'm heading out shortly to join the Pushkar Camel Fair commencing on Nov 6th and have a few questions for any experienced travellers to India.
1. Would a soft-sided rolling duffle bag work? Does anyone bring anything besides a backpack on these tours?
2. Do all the hotels on these tours offer towels or should I bring one along?
3. I would like to pack light but am concerned there won't be much time to do laundry. Is laundry service available at all or some of the hotels on our tour?
Thanks in advance,
Nancy

Re: Misc. Questions
Hey Nancy,
Thanks for your posting.
The answers to your questions are as follows:
1. Would a soft-sided rolling duffle bag work? Does anyone bring anything besides a backpack for this tour?
A soft-sided duffle bag would be fine (these are the bags we use on the treks in Nepal). Most people bring backpacks. Some bring suitcases. All are perfectly fine, though suitcases are a bit trickier to get on and off trains. On Traveller Tours, such as HFPF, porters carry the bags at the hotels, railway stations etc.
2. Do all hotels on these tours offer towels or should I bring one along?
All Traveller Class hotels provide towels.
3. I would like to pack light but am concerned there won
Re: Misc. Questions
Robert,
Thanks for the valuable info. Bringing less and getting my laundry done along the way sounds like the way to go.
Can't wait.. I'll be sure to report back when I return.
Best regards,
Nancy
Re: Misc. Questions
Nancy..I was on an India tour last year, and Laundry is extremely cheap..I did mine several times. It seems as though my clothes got really dirty in India!!![[Cool]](cool.gif)
Re: Misc. Questions
Thanks Tracy for the update. It's nice to know there will be plenty of opportunities to get laundry done cheaply. I'm sure after a camel ride, my clothes will be screaming to be cleaned.
