Hi, Im planning on a trip to Nepal in March (probably the Road to Kathmandu from Mumbai to Kathmandu and a Nepal Panorama afterwards)
Then, I was thinking of taking a Kathmandu-Lhasa overland trip, but I read that as a foreigner entering Tibet from Nepal, not only do you need
a. Tibet Entry Permit. (TTP)
b. Alien's Travel Permit. (PSB Permit)
You also need a special Chinese visa issued at theChinese embassy in Nepal which is only valid for 4 weeks.
all these will most tour operator help with, but my plan is to stay in China until late August after the Summer Olympic Games, so i'll need a 6month visa.
so here are the questions:
a. Is it possible to apply for a new Visa in Lhasa?
b. If i fly from Kathmandu to Chengdu via Lhasa (since the only other choice is Kathmandu - Hongkong - mainland China), does the stay in Lhasa airport count as entering Tibet?
