Hello
I am shortly to embark on the 'Road to Shanghai' tour in China. The tour commences on 29 May 2005. This is my first imaginative traveller tour. I have a couple of quick questions:
* The local tour payment is USD$180.00. Will I require US currency for any other part of the tour? I anticipate that I will not.
* I am arriving in Beijing the day before the tour. My travel agent has advised that people arriving in Beijing on the day the tour commences will be met by imaginative traveller staff at the airport, in order to facilitate the transfer to the hotel. If this correct, will I be met by someone from the company if I am arriving a day earlier, or should I simply proceed to a transfer counter upon arrival? My travel agent is unable to unable to provide me with a clear answer.
Thank you

Re: Road To Shanghai
Dear Steven,
Thanks for posting, and thanks for booking on a tour with us!
Regarding your question about the USD currency - no you shouldn't need it for any other part of your tour. In fact if you prefer, you can also pay the local payment in Chinese Yuan (this is on the trip dossier, which you can find on www.imtravdossiers.com). Your tour leader would be able to advise you of the amount in Chinese Yuan so you could simply exchange the currency on arrival.
Regarding your transfer question, I think I have found your booking on our system. You have a pre-tour hotel night and transfer booked, so you will be met on arrival and transferred to your hotel.
I hope this helps and that you have a great time on tour!
