Hi, I live in England and plan to travel India this year. My dream is to continue working in England as a tree surgeon, but during winters go to India. I wish to get involved in impoting men's silver jewellery, I believe I see a gap in the market for particular styles of rings etc. Just wondered if anyone has any type of tips or advice involving Indian silver jewellery, for example, is it risky to bring smaller amounts back in hand luggag, is it very cheap per gram, can you get designs made to order, any info would be appreciated, thanks

Re: Silver Jewellery in India
Hi Kye, my dad used to be an indian jewellary retailer and wholesaler for twenty plus years...
"First of all my advise is by all means you can bring few samples of rings made in silver or gold but you must declare it at U.K. customs for V.A.T.\prupose.
Once you have done that you can do your marketing in U.K If you get orders let me know I will guide you how to import.
While you are in India make a contact with Chamber of commerce they will guide you and give you list of manufacturer who knows what sort of quality will be required for U.K. Moreover If you got time you can visit jewellery exhibitions to establish your contacts. "
