Hello Everyone,

We have had some updated advise from the Indian High Commsion regarding Indian visas and travelling to India:

In view of the spread of the Swine Influenza A(H1N1) all passengers travelling to India will be screened at the International Airports in India on their arrival and required to carry the Health Card at the Immigration. This will also involve quarantine and even hospitalisation, if detected, with any symptoms connected with the flu.

In respect to that, all visa applicants are required fill the self declaration Health card and required to submit along with the application form at the Visa Application Centres. All the applicants are required to carry this Health card, while travelling to India and may required to produce at the Immigration in India. All the Travel agents are required to submit this self declaration Health Card along with Visa application form at the application centre duly signed by the applicant.

You can download the health card here:

Thanks

Health Cards

What about the contact information that is required by the card for our travels while in India?

Looking at the US site for Indian Visas, there is no mention of a health card being required, is the card only for UK?

Regards,

Rc

Hello Mrqcace

You can find the contact address for your Indian visa application form/health form on the country dossier- click here:

I hope that this helps.

US or UK

Hello:

Thanks for the update. On the US site for the visas there is no mention of a health card requirement. Do you know if the health card is for the UK only? I suppose it would be wise to carry one just in case, but there is no mention of sending one in with the Visa application on this site,

Hello Mrqcace,

The information that we receive comes from the Indian High Commission in London- it is definatley worth checking with a visa specialist company or the Indian embassy before you travel if you are from the USA.

Thanks

Kate

Health Care

The Indian Consulates in Canada are requesting this as well so it is for any country where this flu virus has been reported including the US.
