Hi

I would like to go to China in April, but have a hard time deciding which tour I should take. I know that I definitely want to include the Great Wall, Terracotta Warriors and Three gorges. I would also like to do quite a bit of trekking and see a bit of the nature scenery. I am able to spend up to 21 days in China.

Any recommendations?

By the way, what kind of weather can I expect in early April?

Regards

Peter

Peter

Seems there's only one tour to do then, Journey across China, see below postings. Includes, the wall, Xian, the gorges, Yangshou, trekking at Tiger leaping Gorge. And its about 21 days. Any questions, just ask away,

Re: Which tour in China

Hi Peter,

Journey Across China it would seem to be.

I am one of those responsible for the 122 messages listing on this forum that did this trip. I haven't logged on for a long time I'm afraid. The intention was to put up some stories and pictures but I've been run off my feet at work since returning.

The trip itself takes in all you want and has a good variety. For me, it just got better the longer we were there. You start of doing the big smoke and gradually work your way further into the sticks and spectacular scenery.

I really enjoyed myself, as did all of us I think, and if I have time I will put some photos up on one of the journey across china threads below on this forum.

Get there early the day the tour starts (or better still the day before) and do the summer palace and temple of heaven in beijing (unless these are on the list now of course). I do know the itinery has changed slightly in the new catalogue, but I don't know which days it affects (it's at home)
In fact there is lots to do in beijing if you have time.

The only downer was that the last day in kunming is really a day of nothing as we arrived back the night before and a lot of the people were carrying on to katmandu on the 4 week trip. This left a group of us in kunming with little to do for a day. Some people changed their flights so as to get a day in hong kong. I didn't as the flight filled up before I got to the phone. Most of us had dragon air flights to hong kong from kunming, and they seemed perfectly willing to change flights for you as long as there was space left.
Wasn't a bad day, just a bit of a slow end to a fast moving holiday so don't let it put you off, just be aware.

Hope this helps,

Jerry
