Will India tours be affected?

Given the recent natural disaster in and around India, will the scheduled tours to Northern India be affected? I am booked on a tour that starts on Jan 9. Is there an option to postpone my tour?

I know that region has not directly been impacted, but it would be preferable to tour a country when they are not dealing with a natural disaster.

Re: Will India tours be affected?

HI,
We too are booked on the Rajasthan Safari for January 9th. I know that the area we are travelling through is not supposed to be affected, according to media we are receiving in Canada. However, we were wondering if there are any additional things we should attend to, given the disaster that is happening in India right now...additional things we should bring with us, areas that we will not be going to...areas that we should not go to after our tour is over, besides Chennai (we have an additional week after our tour is over to tour India on our own), and is our tour is still running? Has Goa been affected in any manner or would it be safe to go there? Will people living in India still want a bunch of tourists travelling through their country when they are in the middle of a disaster of this magnitude? Any information would be helpful. Thanks
Pam Jackson

Re: Will India tours be affected?

I have just returned from a tour in the south finishing with a week on the beach at Goa. The disaster struck while we were halfway through our tour but at no time were we in any danger at all. I personally believe that it is vital to the people of India that tourists keep coming to see their magnificent country. I can assure potential visitors that Goan beaches, unaffected by the wave, remain as beautiful and as relaxing as they always are.
