Travel in Kenya

As you may know, the British Foreign Office (FCO) downgraded its advice concerning Kenya over the weekend, and no longer advises against travel to the whole country.
The advice from the Foreign Office now advises against travel to specific parts of the country - those that affect Imaginative Traveller tours are the advisories not to travel to Nyanza province or Rift Valley Province between Narok and Kitale.
Our "Elephants and Beaches" trip on 10 February is in an area considered 'safe' by the Foreign Office - therefore we are pleased to confirm that this will be going ahead with no changes. Although the FCO advises not to visit Mombasa town, this tour actually stays in a beach resort outside of the town and so is not affected.
If you are travelling on either our "Visions of Africa" or "Road to Zanzibar" tours departing on 10 February, please note there will be changes to your itinerary, and we have already been in contact to advise you of these.
Our "Kilimanjaro Trek - Marangu Route" on 8th February will be taking place as normal, as will the "Tanzania Explorer Safari" on 15th February.
These are the tours that are scheduled to depart in Kenya within the next month (up until the end of February). We will of course continue to monitor the situation carefully and will update this policy as necessary for any future tours.
