Hello,
I'm booking for the 'Caribbean rythms' starting on november 1st and I have a few questions.
I'm arriving October 29th late at about 9 in the evening.
I was thinking of having 2 relaxing days in Varadero. Would it be possible to spend the night in Havana and then the next morning go to Varadero? Could you arrange a decent hotel overthere for 30th and 31st of October?
How much would they charge for a taxi to bring me there? How long does it take by bus?
I also read on the internet some comments on the hotel in Havana. These were not positive, but rather diverse, so I cannot make up what the reality could be. Can you clear this out for me please?
I would like to do the walk in the sierra maestra, but since my physical condition is not very good, I wonder if the paths are steep, narrow or in any other way difficult for me to walk on? I also doubt about the temperature and humidity, since I easily get overheated.
Thanks for helping me out.
Linda

Re: Cuba november 2008
Hello Linda,
Thanks for the enquiry and apologies for the delay in answering your questions.
Varadero is not an area that we visit as part of our itinerary, however I can request a side trip from our local office to see if we can add it on? So I am unable to determine distances and taxi fares I'm afraid.
It would be no problem booking any additional nights in Havanna.
The Hotel Lincoln may not be considered an amazing hotel from a western perspective, however in context of the average budget hotel found in Cuba it is comparable and we think this hotel is fine for our tour.
The walking track is about 2
