Hi I'm considering Peru and may be the inca trail for 2007 and wonder what time of year is best for weather . I normally go on holiday in november /december time and wonder if peru being in southern hemisphere makes it spring there and a good time or is it less rain and better at other times of year . I notice alot of trips focus on our summertime around july /august for this area . any advice on this would be much appreciated , thanks

Re: time of year for inca trail
Hi Unihazard,
Thanks for your questions.
The best time of year to visit Peru in terms of the weather is generally March to May and September to November. May to September is a good trekking period when the weather is dry and settled but also a bit chilly up in the Andes. December to February is the hottest period along the coast and Novemeber to April is when Peru sees most of its annual rainfall.
What I will also say though is that the weather can be varied most of the year and the varied attractions and beautiful scenery tend to override the importance of good weather in Peru, which doesn't normally experience any drastic weather that would affect your enjoyment of the tour.
I hope this helps.
Regards,
Brendan
